The Nic 35 has always been a highly sought after cruiser, strong, reliable providing excellent performance whatever the conditions, attractive classic lines along with a traditional sailor friendly practical interior designed for serious sailing. C&N built over 200 35s over a period of 20 years and those we’ve seen and sold have certainly stood the test of time. The Nicholson 35 is a pedigree yacht for the discerning sailor. Respected test reporter and sailor Duncan Kent has a fantastic Yachting Monthly write up on the 35 (from 2016) and we have a copy if you’d like a read which by the end will highlight how good these yachts are.

The condition or level of safety equipment on board is not to be negotiated on following survey. It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. We strongly suggest that for your own personal safety that when purchasing a yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on second hand gear.

Should you become the new owner of this yacht then the responsibility to re-register or update official bodies for items such as EPIRB, VHF, MMSI or AIS becomes yours.

Owners Comments

Owners Comments/Cruising History:

A few jobs completed in May 2022:

  • Replaced the 4 SS hose clips on the propshaft hose seal
  • Stripped, freed off and greased and re-bedded the plate cover over the rudder stock (emergency tiller)
  • Replaced the gas pipe with EN 16436-1 Class 2 spec hose (showing manufacture date of 05/03/22)

Under present ownership:
1999 to 2004 Regular cruises to Channel Islands and Brittany
2004 – 2006 Poole to Ionian via Biscay, owners lived aboard fulltime
2006 to date Annual Ionian island cruising

2018 Decks resurfaced and this included rectifying the known Nic35 problem of the oxidising and expanding integral aluminium plates in the GRP lay-up for the deck rigging attachment fittings.
These plates were removed and replaced with thick solid GRP integral plates.
These together with the ss backing plates have dealt with this problem.

Very minor items not functioning or needing repair/replacement on listing:
Nanni engine pre-heaters (not required in Mediterranean waters)
Compass light
Starboard cabin radio speaker
Cockpit VHF speaker
Galley manual tap (spare on board not fitted)
Wind instrument mast head fitting (repaired but not fitted)
