The condition or level of safety equipment on board is not to be negotiated on following survey. It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. We strongly suggest that for your own personal safety that when purchasing a yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on second hand gear.

Should you become the new owner of this yacht then the responsibility to re-register or update official bodies for items such as EPIRB, VHF, MMSI or AIS becomes yours.

Comments

Purchased by the current owner in 2018 who has sailed the Ionian, Gulf of Corinth, Peloponnese.

Privately owned and never chartered

Only sailed 8-10 weeks per year (May/June and Sept/Oct) then mainly stored ashore.  Was not used between 2022-2025 has been in full use 2026.  but this yacht won the Odeseas Owners Cup Regatta in 2019, Odeseas Marina (Meganisi). So she is fast as well as comfortable

A modern cruising yacht delivering excellent sailing performance, generous accommodation, and exceptional value.
Designed for family cruising, charter operation, and extended holidays afloat, the Cruiser 39 combines German
engineering, comfortable living space, and straightforward handling in a yacht suitable for both coastal and offshore
passages.

This message was repeated throughout Bavaria’s marketing during the late 2000s. The emphasis was on comfort,
practicality, affordability, and ease of ownership rather than outright racing performance.

Features Commonly Highlighted in 2008
• Twin aft cabins plus owner’s cabin forward.
• Two separate heads compartments.
• Large cockpit table for entertaining.
• Walk-through transom and bathing platform.
• Selden rig and quality deck hardware.
• Spacious galley suitable for extended cruising.
• Excellent natural light and ventilation below decks.

Position in the Market
In 2008 the Bavaria Cruiser 39 competed directly against:
• Beneteau Oceanis 393
• Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 39i
• Hanse 400
• Dufour 385 Grand Large
Its strongest selling point was generally regarded as interior volume and value for money, making it extremely
popular with both private owners and charter fleets throughout Europe and the Mediterranean.

Reputation Today
Owners and reviewers generally describe the 2005–2010 J&J-designed Bavaria Cruisers as:
• Comfortable family cruisers.
• Spacious liveaboard platforms.
• Reliable and economical to maintain.
• Better suited to cruising than racing.
• Particularly attractive on the used market due to their accommodation and value.
