Owners Comments

This well-maintained “Formosa 51” ketch has ample accommodations for six to eight people but can be sailed comfortably by a crew of two. Her gleaming white hull is complemented by traditional teak decking.  Below decks the teak woodwork and paneling, with leather button upholstery, provide up- market comfort. She provides fun sailing in classic surroundings.
I bought her in 2009 and am only her third owner.  The second owner owned her for over 20 years.  I have met the first owner.  This ketch has been lightly cruised, has not been chartered and has never left the Med’.  Since I purchased her I have continued to improve her including: replacing all stainless steel rigging (a necessity to get full insurance coverage) and installing an air-conditioning/heat pump system serving the main saloon and the owners’ stateroom.
She is documented and registered in the USA.  She is considered to be VAT paid because of her age.  Mooring fees in Marmaris, Turkey, have been paid through the summer of 2013.  A 2009 Survey is available for inspection.
